maybe you have to enable it in navit.xml <gui type="gtk" enabled="yes" toolbar="1" menubar="1" statusbar="0" fullscreen="1" font_size="300" pitch="00"/> in that line you can choose what you want to enable or disable 1=enable 0=disable
