You can fix the headphones. Take off the rubber pads and you will see a dark round canvas on the top of the headphone speaker in the middle. It is the pointy think in the middle around which the rubber padding goes. The canvas is most propably been soaked in earwax and the sound won't pass it properly anymore. There are no good ways of cleaning the canvas so it is good to just remove it. You won't notice any change in the working of the headphones, but you have to be a bit more carefull not to let any big dust or other stuff into the headphones.

Take some sharp and thin thing, a knife por example and pry away the canvas on top of the middle "tube". It is only slightly glued on and should come off easilly and without any damage. After the removal, the headphones will resume working correctly. At least worked for me.

I don't have any pictures for you how to do this, but I hope I explained this well enough that you know what to do.
