There shouldn't be any non-slip on the acrylic one (it doesn't stick to acrylic). On the wood one, there will be a very thin coat of something. It's like 1/8mm thick, clear -- if it's not working, try gently scrubbing it with your thumb. Could be that there's dust/paint particles keeping the rubber from contacting your desk surface.
