INSTRUCTIONS FOR FLASHING FROM A PC
__________________________________________________ __
1:
download and install maemo_flasher-3.5
Flasher download:
http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-dev-env-downloads.php
2:
download and put the kernel image in the flasher directory on your PC (C:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5\). Make sure you save the file with no extension ie.txt at the end. Just leave it as
'zImage-800mhz'

3:
turn off your device
4:
hold the 'u' letter and plug in the usb cable. PC should detect the phone in flasher mode. You should now see a 'USB' icon in the top right of the nokia screen.
5:
type this command in Maemo Flasher 3.5:

flasher-3.5 -k <path-to-image> -f -R
___________________________________
example:
flasher-3.5 -k zImage-800mhz -f -R
6:
your done should take 1 second

Tip
**Flash your kernel to run this image 'zImage-800mhz' way less chance of your device overheating and causing damage. any higher and you are one crazy bastard
Caution
**Stay away from any files which end in ‘dsp’ unless you know what you are doing.
**Avoid using any kernel which runs the device at more then 900mhz unless you know what you are doing.
**better yet stay away from any overclocking unless you understand the risk of what you are doing.

INSTRUCTIONS ADDING A DESKTOP HEAT WIDGET

1:
download and install ‘Desktop command execution widget’. I think it’s in Extras-devel
2:
add the widget to your desktop
3:
go to the setting of your widget by holding the screen, or tapping once in a empty space and click the box which drops down on the top right. Click on the ‘tool’ on the widget to get to the settings
4:
Once in the widget set up click ‘add Cmd’
5:
a box should appear with two fields. Add the following

Titile:
Heat
___________________________________
Command:
cat /sys/devices/platform/omap34xx_temp/temp1_input
___________________________________
6:
click ‘save’ then ‘save’ again
7:
your done: D. if you want you can tweak the widget a little more in the settings.
Tip
**the desktop command widget
doesnt refresh unless you scroll or click on it
by default. Some users will think the temp is stuck but its not
**if you want live changes click on the settings again. untick update on scroll and press. set up an update interval in the settings ranging from 30sec to 12hours
***this might have a battery impact im not sure?????
or have update on scroll, press ticked and intervals selected.
