Sounds like it may be a bit off-balance. That could be caused by something stuck to a vane, external damage or bearing wear. Make sure all of the vanes are clean for one. If bearings are worn or a vane damaged then the fan will need to be replaced. I'd recommend having another one on hand just in case.
