I'm guessing you're in the scratchbox FREMANTLE_ARMEL target.

If so, forget all the autogen stuff, blow away the source directory you were working in, and just do the following:

apt-get source hildon-input-method
cd hildon-input-method-2.1.46
fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage -b -d -nc -rfakeroot
