I reread the entire thread you pointed to, and only saw one mention of overclocking. The power kernel was mentioned several times. However, several posters convincingly said they had the problem and they weren't even using the power kernel. I'm just mentioning this because someone might get the wrong impression. In the thread you pointed at, something unrelated to the power kernel or overclocking seemed to solve the problem. (I never had the problem so can't testify directly.)

I like this BoostN900, though I can't promise that it does much. I have made a lot of changes lately and my N900 has turned into a dream, but I'm not sure what exact role BoostN900 played.
