Which means something went wrong. Either you made some typo somewhere or the cloning phase crashed in the middle. In that case start from step which does reformatting the partition (mke2fs /dev/mmcblk0p2) and then go to mounting and cloning phase. Make sure the cloning phase (tar .. | tar ..) does not crash, i.e. yo go back to shell prompt possibly with some warning about old time stamp.
