Yes, the TV can see PS3Mediaserver and I use it all the time to play videos from my laptop on TV, by browsing the PC shares using the TV remote controller.

The TV was able to see Ps3Mediaserver only after I opened up some relevant ports in the fedora firewall . I will try with the firewall turned off to see if it helps, as I remember that Ubuntu has the firewall off by default.
