Forget about shockwave

Jakiman's guide, which is linked to from the above, has some information that might be easier to understand.

The upshot is that you can increase clocking speed and DECREASE power usage.

These days, I would recommend 805 mhz, not because of any danger from overclocking (there is virtually none, experience from the N900 on this site indicates), but because SmartReflex doesn't work with a higher setting and it seems to be the best way to save on power usage.

Forget Nitdroid, it's not worth it. Doesn't make phone calls yet, for one thing. It's harder than Easy Debian, and less useful. It's like a talking dog -- it's amazing that it works at all, but doesn't have much interesting to say.
