Just have to wait and see. There's no reason the N9's old hardware couldn't run MeeGo (since the N900 is the baseline) and just be a lower-tier device...

Alternatively are the rumours about WM7 on Nokia's phones true and so are going to see an OS using WM7, if a big push into the US market is looming?
Well, it'd do wonders for Microsoft's drive to undermine open source, and it'd simplify who I won't buy mobile devices from in the future. Certainly, an announcement like that would cripple the entire MeeGo project.
