MP are great if you want to resize the photo to redicules size so there is always use cases where its cool. but not really saying anything about the quality of the cam or photos.

They where not that powerful but made the job. Today... the computer would do the same thing just faster, more things at the same time and so forth.

however, Its not really needed to get the job done. But it's just "better". Its just "more".
