Try pressing shift + tap on zoom-out icon. It will zoom out a little bit and the result should be very close to pixel-doubling in maep. Instead of 2x zoom, you will get 1.999x zoom

There is no configuration entry for this one. But you can edit /opt/cloudgps/res/road.png and change the color/transparency.
