Not necessarily. I think it's more like, "the current clicking-on-pretty-pictures UX idiom is more suitable for dummies". Without them, the dummies would not even approach a computer, such as was the case back in the 1970s and 1980s. I would not say it is necessarily a bad thing, although it makes some jobs that little harder for you when you have to explain something to a dummy who only understands pretty pictures.
