jaeezzy: good questions!
1. I didn't notice this before, but you're probably right. Feel free to experiment with the /usr/bin/lxde-switch script. Comment out the /etc/init.d/
whatever
stop lines and the associated start lines, and then see if that changes things. Report back here with your findings!

3. Yes. That's a problem. It makes the MicroB browser quite a bit less useful in non-Maemo environments.
4. Don't know. That puzzles me too.
