As far as I can tell, you're partially right. It WAS already a sad state of affairs but once Elop took the reigns and started opening his face-hole and saying many stupid things in public and tying the company's karma to an already-established loser really accelerated the downward dive for Nokia. Symbian didn't drive the company into the ground the way Windows Mobile is performing right now.
