So, I guess the problem is well known already: at some point the camera of the n900 stops working and whenever you open it, the message "Operation Failed" is displayed. I did some searches and found a number of solutions that did not work for me, for the sake of clarification I will list them below: 1) Install the BlessN900 2) Install the "new" fcam drivers 3) Remove any software that deals with the camera (as in BlessN900 or fcam) 4) Install an older version of the kernel 5) Install an older version of the power-kernel 6) Format the 30Gb partition using the nokia n900 7) Format the 30Gb partition using linux (mkfs.vfat) 8) Restore default settings (so the camera would save on some "right" path again) 9) Flashing the device 10) Flashing the eMMC I didn't try anything with a SD card because I don't use one. The kernels I used were the ones on this thread (as were all the fixes I mentioned above). Still no working camera. Output of dmesg | tail is Code: [ 321.369934] cam_shutter (GPIO 110) is now open [ 322.869689] adp1653 2-0030: failed writing fault register [ 322.870361] video4linux video0: can't power up slaves [ 325.932495] cam_shutter (GPIO 110) is now closed So, any ideas ? P.S.: Forgot to mention that the files I used for the flashing were: RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.002_PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin P.S.S.: I followed the instructions here to flash the device.
