Really dumb idea perhaps, but instead of moving parts (an OCD phobia) you might consider keeping speakers anchored and simply attach an accordion tube to project the sound in whichever direction ? Such things would be much easier to fix or replace... n.b. - I am not an audiophile, just someone who had a silly idea.
