In the case of the Neo900, we are not paying anymore unless the project is deemed feasible so the second down payment is a thing, and we will not be refunded for what we invested so far, so I don't think keeping some trust in it is doing any harm. The opposite, however, is certainly hurting the project by sending bad signals to the team or discouraging other backers.

Polls are meant to be subsamples, but when the bias is unknown, statistics may hide the real trends or even lead to wrong conclusions. Only a real poll undertaken by the Neo900 team itself to send emails to actual backers would be reliable, even if just a fraction of them answers, and in any case it is really hard to answer the question until we know what is the final price, something only them will be able to tell during the crowdfunding campaign and depending on its success.
