Just opening the file might work fine, but even accessing random parts of it would probably stall the CPU, causing the watchdog to kick in and reboot the device. And I'm not yet talking about actually computing something. This might help to understand the situation. [1] And then you need to factor in that the SoC in that phone (Mediatek MT6735) is probably 10x faster than the OMAP 3430 in the N900 (just a wild guess, could be totally off).
