replying to myself... I tried building maemo mapper with debug enabled to investigate this, but the version i built never crashed! So I rebuilt with debug back off and it keeps on working! Not a single crash so far (in about 2 weeks of usage) which is much better than on the same version of MM on 2006! On 2006 I used to get a crash on pretty much every long journey I took. So yet another reason 2007on770 is much better than 2006 for me!
