... I don't know whether I can bump this or not but... surely I'm not the only one with this problem?

Using the dpkg --force-all on it only solves the problem of forcing it to get installed, so whenever I want to install something else be it on apt-get or FAM I have to remove it first over and over before I can proceed... surely this is not a very comfortable thing to go through several times over no?
