Yes, there is... at least a couple of solutions.

First is to perform a repair using the same type of connector soldered directly to the PCB. I don't recommend this; surface mount soldering by hand is not easy.

The better solution is to use a cabinet-mounted connector (with a flange) that is connected to the old pads by leads. Someone reporting a usb failure on my blog has done this-- we are awaiting details:
