What's not being said in this thread so far would be how the N810 would require the user to know how to set up custom repositories since the Nokia ones are dead. Also, a lot of software has not been updated or fixed in ages - but many are still useful.

The N810 has no GSM radios in it whereas the N900 does. So calls from the N810 are going to have to be via Wi-Fi via SIP.

However, out of all of the Maemo releases, the N810 was my favorite. But after so many years, I'd find my actual uses to be limited - streaming music, perhaps streaming some video, as an alarm clock and to let me know what the weather may be. Some eBook reading and some very, very, very, very casual web browsing.

If you're adventurous and have some specific use cases; I'd say go for it.
