Yes, in principle. Maemo is a Debian derivative and therefore shares lots of its characteristics.

If you install a package in Easy Debian the program binaries wil usually be installed to /usr/bin in the image. This is the default behavior in most Linux distributions.

You can find out which files will be installed in which directories by clicking the "list of files" link behind the architecture-specific download links on the package website.
