In a matter of months, if not mere weeks, this trend of batteries permanently sealed into phones/tablets will end in a hideous manner when some few more incendiary incidents occur on airlines, probably with fatalities searing the headlines across MSMdom. It is merely a matter of time before such devices are banned outright. Being able to remove the battery will become mandatory for anyone trying to transit on airlines or high-speed rail.
