Hi. The N9 is still a good device. Good but not great, mainly due to Nokia abandoning it, leaving many bugs not fixed (e.g. the battery-draining smartsearch process). There are however (thanks to the community of course) ways to improve it making it much, much better. It's just a shame that it is not that good out of the box. So if you have the time to play with it, you can probably still use it an be satisfied for a year or two
