Hello,

Qt developer ported Plasma (KDE shell) to N900

http://labs.trolltech.com/blogs/2009...uxury-version/

Video included: you will see in it Plasma widgets. Comparing to previous developments, were it was possible to run them in Maemo 5 environment, here it is real, complete Plasma shell.

Note how smooth is interaction with widgets - comparable with native Maemo elements and running Plasma on full-size computer.

THANK YOU! As much as I like the Maemo interface (it's not bad, I do like it) I'd MUCH MUCH prefer the Plasma interface. I feel that it's a much more COMMON desktop that shares a lot of standards in common with other desktops/interfaces, unlike Hildon's. I'm also a LOT more impressed with having the same familiar desktop on my pocket computer that I use on my laptop or desktop computer. This brings a TRUER computing experience to pocket computing. Sure--you could throw Hildon on a desktop, but you wouldn't want to. I believe that Plasma is great from small to big screens.

So.. thank you to the folks doing this!
