I was able to install Vietnamese fonts to my 770 with OS2007HE.

0. Get Xterm packet for your Nokia.
1. gain root access. (see http://maemo.org/community/wiki/HowDoiBecomeRoot2 )
2. copy font file (truetype font ,arial for example, from Windows) to the MMC.
3. copy file from MMC to /usr/share/font/truetype
( "sudo su -" to get the root prompt )
4. run "fc-cache -f -v" to create new font cache.
5. Start the browser !

Good luck!

Darn, this looks so complex.
I would like more info about which fonts are clearest for Japanese.
Why couldn't somebody create a script/batch file (as one often finds for Ubuntu) that asks for the language and then scurries to download and install everything needed ... please?
Honestly, though, this is something Nokia itself should create.

I have a partial solution with Korean fonts.

The ttf files in the package didn't work. I copied 4 baekmuk ttf files (dotum, batang, gulim, etc) from Ubuntu machine to /usr/share/fonts. Then fc-cache -f did the trick.

But it's not 100% working. For example, if I open www.chosun.com, some fonts still show as squares. But the main texts are in gulim font. I first thought it was the text size issue. So I changed the minimum text font to 30 but still the same squares now appear as large squares.

For Korean web browsing, check this web site, quite useful:
