I wrote it as a learning exersise mainly. however I have started using it as my main client.
i've been thinking about making it availiable, but that seems like a lot of effort to go to if no one is interested.
so, here is what it can do
- basic auth only.
- retireve your twitterfeed
- tweet
- twitpic
- open referenced urls from tweets into browser
also there are views formentions, direct messages, public timeline, friends, trending topics
and there is a search option.
it's all pretty raw, and I'm not going to pretend it's even remotely well written. but if there is interest I may clean it up and figure out how to get it into the repositories etc

If Witter isn't working for you, eg crashes/doesn't start, gives errors etc etc. Please run it from x-term using:
run-standalone.sh python2.5 /opt/witter/witter.py
This will generate diagnostic output. Without this I cannot help you.
