Is there anyway to create a shortcut to a command file on the desktop? I know you can shortcut to applications and such. Basically instead of typing my ssh commands to various servers I have created a command file but still have to execute in terminal. Just looking for an even lasier option. I know Personal Menu on the N800 used to be able to do this. Any ideas? Thanks

Create a .desktop file in /usr/share/applications somewhere.

You can create a file like this:

[Desktop entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Applicationname
Comment=comment
Exec=osso-xterm 'ssh user@example.org'
Icon=
Type=Application

Where exec determines what the program should do, that one connects to another host. Save the file as something.desktop to /usr/share/applications/hildon

Could this method also work to get a shortcut to a mp3 or playlist files on the desktop to work?

How should a .desktop-file look that should open an mp3/m3u file with the mediaplayer?
the files are stored under /home/user/MyDocs/.sounds/music/xxx.mp3

thx for any helping hand.
