when things go this coplicated, with the n900 you can install easydebian and run jdownloader from there.

its heavy, you must be patient, but its a full java download manager with captcha recognition

Is there now any other soulution as to use easy-debian? I cannot imagine no one is able to create or uninterested in having one...

mwmf wrote/writes a gui for tucan ( i already wrote that once ) which won't depend on java.

@antifarben can you make a tutorial haw to install tucan on n900?

I din't tried it, sorry. But I also would be happy if someone had the time to try it or develop some finger-friendly frontend.
