No, I have used xterm to make this. There are other threads
or users where you can find a step by step instructions on how
to do this.

this is what i did:

put phone in offline mode.
opened up cute explorer
went into my .rtcom-eventlogger folder in user\home\
then this in xterminal before my update:

cd ~
ls -la
cd .rtcom-eventlogger
mv *.db* ../

copied my "el.db" file only to the .rtcomm-eventlogger/

rebooted

only got 1 of my new conversations back.

so then i tried this:

put phone in offline mode [if you don't it wont work]
copied my db i saved before my update
then i deleted the old 4 el "db" files to .rtcomm-eventlogger/
went to backup and only restored "communication and calendar" and unchecked the others
after reboot my old history was back

And it may be important, that you don't open the conversation app
between removing db-files and restoring the backup.

Hi, I'm totally new to this & after updating my software Im having the same problem where my conversations aren't storing.. I've tried taking it to a repair shop but no luck, all they did was try & update again.
Please can somebody explain (in kind of an idiots guide) how I can fix this please? I'll be eternally grateful!!!!

Thank you

Hi 88thomas88,
Can you open X-Term and than enter the above mentioned commands
and post the result here.

Do you have a backup from your conversations?

As kitwalker said in this thread, the database is sqlite and can be manipulated by any sqliite browser.

I recently had the misfortune of the conversations / contacts bug when doing the over the air update to PR1.3. I solved the problem by coping the database file to my PC (mine was called el-v1.db but yours could be called el.db). I opened the database in a sqlite browser and went to the Events table and deleted the last event. Re-saved the database and transferred it back to the phone. All conversations and contacts were available again and new messages appeared correctly.

So you can fix it without losing everything even if you haven't backed up. A bit worrying that a single bad event can affect all conversations / contacts though!

This is good advice and led me towards finding out a solution to carry out on the phone! See here: http://www.forums.internettablettalk...2&postcount=40 . By opening my database with my pc, I found that the headers table was corrupt.

Thanks,

Alex
