Rather than posting this twice, you might get more answers by posting in something like the Applications forum, rather than the hardware-specific N810 one. This isn't a hardware issue.

Set up an adhoc connection that loops back to the device. This same issue happens with the built in browser.
1. Local javascrip websites with file:/// prefix do work but cookies are not supported, I don't know why, but to get around this I use http://localhost/....(as I have lighttpd installed) which does work, BUT, Opera requires an internet connection for localhost, even for 127.0.0.1. Is there a workaround for this ?
2. When 'Settings->Mobile view' is turned off, it still issues a user agent causing some websites to issue a limited WAP page such as Hotmail, or Google Maps.
