Opera Mobile is a really good (and fast !) browser on the N810 with a few flaws:

1. Local javascrip websites with file:/// prefix do work but cookies are not supported, I don't know why, but to get around this I use http://localhost/....(as I have lighttpd installed) which does work, BUT, Opera requires an internet connection for localhost, even for 127.0.0.1. Other browsers (MicroB, Firefox) do not have this problem.

Is there a workaround for this ?

2. When 'Settings->Mobile view' is turned off, it still issues a user agent causing some websites to issue a limited WAP page such as Hotmail, or Google Maps.

Rather than posting this twice, you might get more answers by posting in something like the Applications forum, rather than the hardware-specific N810 one. This isn't a hardware issue.

Perhaps apt-get install libicd-network-dummy and connect to the DUMMY connection.

(By the way, I apologize if i sounded rude. It wasn't my intent. I was trying to be helpful, but I'm apparently too tired to do so without sounding rather unhelpful.)

Set up an adhoc connection that loops back to the device. This same issue happens with the built in browser.
