Thanks for the thread people, without it I would have to replace my phone (or reset it and lose all my data). Deleting that folder fixed my problem. And my skype, facebook and text messages were not altered. Not sure if the gtalk messages disappeared, I could not find any after deleting the folder but on the other hand, I did not have many gtalk messages, so maybe there were none before.

I love this phone ! especially he button less interface, It's very strange that no other phone manufacturer (as far as I know) has copied that.
