Hello,
I was using Symbian UIQ phones for past 5 years and now I have decided that it is time to move on (well it was not me, it was my fourth Sony Ericsson G700 which had decided not to work anymore), so I bought Nokia N9. The thing is that I am very disappointed with this phone - Meego is nowhere near to user friendliness of Symbian UIQ 3 - everything is three steps farther.

Although the hardware, construction and desing of N9 are just amazing, but that's just a litte satisfaction.

My main problem is this - there is no good web browser for N9. I am used to Opera Mini 4 (java version) and I thought that Opera Mobile 12 in N9 will be at least the same quality, but it is not - it's absolutely terrible. Opera in N9 has bad zooming (I am not a fan of pinch to zoom) and text alignment, also it is slow, lagging and the keyboard is just a cherry on top. Firefox and native browser are even worse.

So I am asking - is there a way to install java MIDP apps on Nokia N9 (especially the Opera Mini) or does exist some modified version of Opera Mobile for Nokia N9? Thanks for answers!

Thanks, but that's not even halfway solution - Opera Mini through this is absolutely unuseable. But fortunately now I am settled with Opera Mobile, so if there is no way to use comfortably Opera Mini, I will use Opera Mobile.

But the keyboard... There is really no solution to use native N9 keyboard in Opera? I just can't get used to two new different keyboards and (!) my language is Czech and I need to use diacritic very often, but the keyboard in Opera can't write with diacritic signs.

What i understand from this post is that you dont like the N9's user interface and experience more than the lack of java.
i suggest that you go back to symbian phones. N8 or 701 will do just

No, you don't understand it well and I don't want to start a flame war. I am just trying to have my N9 more comfortable.

there is an old build of opera mobile with support of harmattan keyboard ( somewhat broken but for the future we hope to get the native one ) . And we won't have opera mini natively .
