is it possible to disable the sound generated by the battery applet when connecting the charger without removing the applet itself?

I am not sure which sound you mean?
I have system sounds off so don't get any sounds like this.

i want to keep system sounds on - only the start charging sound is very annoying (right after you connect the charging cable).
