Hello all new guy here,

I have correctly setup my email account and downloading fine. problem is that my N9 is downloading all 1200 messages on the main server. I dont want to clog up my phone with all the old messages.
I deleted the messages on my phone once already and when i connected again it downloads the same messages? My N8 had an option to limit the amount of messages to be kept on hand. I see no option on the N9.
I would like to keep the messages on the main server as backup.

Is their a way to limit the amount of messages either by size of folder or message count?

You should access webmail, create folder and move backup email to that folder, then delete email in inbox and trash also

yes your method will work fine, though not the solution I was hoping for. I was stuck on looking at the problem from one direction.
