I'm having the VNC reader crash everytime I connect to a host machine. I've read elsewhere about people having luck connecting to hosts. I'm interested to know what others are experiencing.

Which VNC version is on your host machine? I understand that the VNC viewer has problem with some VNC implementations.

Actually, which version on both machines? (and is the other machine windows or Linux?)

If the target is windows and the version is 4.x running as a service, you can try right-clicking the tray icon and changing the Legacy tab to "Only use protocol 3.3"

Also, you will need to open the Authentication tab and "Set Password" While there, you can try checking use 3.3 authentication (no encryption.)

I tried Kfrb, the KDE vnc program. That is what caused the crash. Plain old vncserver worked just fine.

I'll look into trying to set Kfrb to use protocol 3.3.
