qt4.6 in the scratchbox will exist in /opt/qt4-maemo5
just set your PATH to point to use qmake from there and you should be fine to build

yes of course, if you want to use QT for your app development.
QT4.5 is officially supported on Maemo and QT4.6 is a technology preview and available to Maemo ATM in extras-devel.

As far as I know you can not link scratchbox with QT creator 1.3. This means, you will need to build you applications using the terminal. The same goes.

Same goes for the emulator. You can not start it straight from QT. Both of this things make it a pain to develop. Sbox seams a far better option to me but still far from perfect IDE.

I would be glad if I am wrong at any point.

I would also like to get qt 4.6 on my scratchbox in order to try mobility pack.

The default qt version on my scratchbox is still 4.5.3. Probably this is because this is the latest one supported.

How did you install QT 4.6 in scratchbox? I am getting dependancy errors after I do.

[sbox-FREMANTLE_ARMEL: ~] > fakeroot apt-get -f install libqt4-maemo5
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package libqt4-maemo5
[sbox-FREMANTLE_ARMEL: ~] > fakeroot apt-get -f install libqt4-maemo5-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libical-dev: Depends: libical (= 1.43-99.3+0m5) but 1.43-99.4+0m5 is to be installed
libqt4-maemo5-dev: Depends: libqt4-maemo5-dbus (= 4.6.2~git20100212-0maemo1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-xml (= 4.6.2~git20100212-0maemo1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-core (= 4.6.2~git20100212-0maemo1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-network but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-gui but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-svg but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-webkit but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-sql but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-script but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-test but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-maemo5 but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-multimedia but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-phonon but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libqt4-maemo5-opengl (= 4.6.2~git20100212-0maemo1) but it is not going to be installed

SOLVED: Just had to fakeroot apt-get -f install. After the upgrade of my scratchbox libical-dev dependence broke. After this the installation worked!
