Hello,
I kinda like the K9Call dialling solution,
except with portrait desktop in CSSU, it rotates to landscape, and half the widget is cut off.
I believe it is abandoned - in the K9Call announcement thread there are requests like this one, but no response, and they're old, too.

I'm starting this thread to find out how difficult (or easy) it would be to make this adaptation, and maybe even get some help with doing it myself.
Not being a programmer, I naively think it should require changing maybe a dozen lines of code or so, since e.g. tinkering with transitions also is only about adjusting several values in transitions.ini, right?
OR can single desktop widgets be blacklisted to not rotate?
What do you think?

Please gather all of your question in one thread or ask in the main threads.

I think it makes more sense to make one thread per topic so the answers will be easier to find, as separate topics will be related to separate headlines. It's hard enough to find things in here as it is, so I do consider this problem when posting...
This one would have gone into the K9Call main thread if I hadn't found it abandoned

It sorta doesn't work. I added k9call to the blacklist, but it still rotates...

Even "abandoned" threads are good for posting new things - people using "abandoned" tools still have them (threads) subscribed, most of the time.

In any case, creating new threads, when old one is available, just because You want faster answer, is always a *BAD* idea.

...even if it means *NEVER* getting an answer because nobody ever looks at the old one?
I find it kind of inconsistent to criticize me for starting a new thread because I'm asking a question, while no efforts are made to make informations easily available on Maemo.org (Google is faster and more accurate than our own site search). I have pointed this out a long time ago, and the reactions were basically saying "nah, everything's cool, it's alright to post different information for the same topic all over the place."...

You may have to find the correct "word" or "words" to blacklist, sometimes there not obvious.

It should be k9call, unless a package name can have a space in it, like so: "k9call 0.1-11"?
Tere have been other posts asking about this in K9call thread and portrait desktop thread, and in this one with the package names for the blacklist, but no answers...

I'll venture that this is related to K9call being a Qt widget, and maybe the blacklist doesn't work the same way for these as for a regular app? Someone mentioned the names of the executable should be put in the blacklist, not the package names?

I'm just bumping this thread - also posted to the announcement thread of K9Call and sent PM to the maintainer of the package, vrwarp, but there aren't any replies... :-(
It'd be a pity for this nice widget to go to waste....
