What symbian does is to program one of the extended registers in the ARM architecture.
This register is actualized by the 'time' register and basically is a timeout.
When it expires, it triggers a hardware interrupt, that wakes up the phone.
It's very simplistic information, but you can find for on the ARM website and in the Texas Instrument's.

All others Nokia's has this option... but not N9 and all day I have to wait the phone "power down" some minutes after I click in alarm clock stop button to press physical button and Start my phone.
I see a program called "auto power off" in Nokia Store but I need a "Auto power up"
