After installing Chinese ttf font, many applications include news reader can display Chinese.

But Opera borwser still can not display Chinese yet.

Does anybody know, why the browser can not display Chinese or how to make the browser to display Chinese characters.

Thanks.

If you are running out of memory on opera, I recommend disabling plugins and editing opera.ini to:
not use animated gifs (who need them anyway)
disable inner frames (ok, you will loose support for full gmail, but html gmail still works. It's faster anyway, so no biggie)

Anyone else has good suggestions for trimming opera?

With those changes sites are MUCH faster and I practically NEVER run to low memory problems. Then again I don't use chinese sites, but I would assume that this would improve your performance as well.

Reason may be that the server of the page you want to view does not send the right encoding with the header.
You can force the browser to use a special encoding instead of "automatic".

In the Browser go to "Ansicht"->"Codierung"->try
utf-8 (or an onther encoding the site may want to use)

My interface is German so maybe yours says "View"->"Pagecencoding"

Niko
