Can you move off the phone screen while on a call to do something like take down or look up a phone number? I'd be very surprised if you couldn't but I can't see a very self-explanatory icon (to me anyway) on the in-call screen shots I've seen and I use this feature all the time.

What I'd like to know is how this "flipping the phone face down" works when it's left face down...

Also, how is the speakerphone working while doing that?
Would be nice to keep talking while going through your calendar...

Well, I don't have one so I can't give you a definitive answer, but I imagine it goes something like this (using the proximity sensor):

1. N900 is face up
2. N900 rings
3. Owner checks N900, or decides to ignore call, puts N900 face down
4. Proximity sensor detects that it's face down and the N900 stops ringing

OR

1. N900 is face down
2. N900 rings
3. Owner checks N900, or decides to ignore call, puts N900 face down
OR
3. Owner rolls the N900 across the desk
4. Proximity sensor detects that it's face down and the N900 stops ringing

That's my guess.

Hopefully it's the going from up to down that triggers it :-)

Not for me, carrying a cyborgish thing that I have to recharge is just more trouble for me hehe :-)
It's just like 3D, nobody wants to actually wear glasses :-P
