basically after i flashed phone with pr1.3 a few weeks ago, i noticed that any videos i encode on my pc @ 800x480 wont play as full screen on my phone (using lots of different encoders)
and that tells me its a problem with the phone not my encoding

even though there both the same size on my pc (screen size and details in the properties info)

ive tried re-encoding in both mp4 and avi but get the same result

this video attached beiow i made months ago and always played full screen, but after flashing pr1.3 it plays as though its 600x480, even though its 800x480
can anyone tell me whats going on here with my awesome phone, or test the video below and see if its full screen on your n900's

http://www.mediafire.com/file/mkndin2konk/meego2.rar

ive got a terrible feeling that im gonna have to flash it yet again, even though its a clean full flash with hardly anything installed

(before pr1.3)

(after pr1.3)

That .AVI contains a header declaring the aspect ratio to be 1.333. Your phone's media player is now honouring that. Try re-encoding the video with 800:480 (1.666) aspect ratio.

Edited to add:
In fact you can use mencoder to strip off this header without transcoding, and the movie will fill the screen on the N900:
mencoder meego2.avi -ovc copy -oac copy -o meego2-fix.avi
