For me, a Maemo phone should be like the iPhone or N800. Large touchscreen with minimal buttons, and small enough (not 4 inches) so you can use it as a phone and not a brick.

I don't demand a DPad and button cluster on the face per se, but there need to be directional keys of some sort (DPad or arrow keys), somewhere on the device.
Linux doesn't matter to me too much if I can't use an XTerm

what i need in any phone. maemo or not doesn't matter at all:
less than 120g
GPS
HSPA
decent camera with flash and video recording
ability to install any 3rd party software
numeric keyboard
hardware keys for dial/hang up/menu
d-pad
no touch screen or at least being able to operate without touching the screen
sturdy: must peacefully co-exist with keys and other metal objects in pockets
full bluetooth-support
decent storage for applications and videos
less than 120g

N900 seems to have almost all I need, assuming it has voice.
But, I would like to have at least 4-row slide-out keyboard.
I am using navigation and Nokia sports tracker in my current phone quite heavily. Those are REQUIRED applications. Navigation should be there, as N810 already had it, but does anyone know about Nokia sports tracker for Fremantle?
