finally decided to jump on the overclocking bandwagon last night and installed the advanced linux kernel for power users but when i try to install coufreqUI so i can adjust the processor frequency it tells me that it is missing some packages and cannot be installed.

It requires Qt 4.6, which we will get in the upcoming firmware soon.

aaarg!
i finally get round to overclocking and have the required kernel but no means to adjust the processor frequency

You can install kernel-power-settings from extras-devel.

and OC using the following command:

root

kernel-config setdefault ideal


Ideal profile works best for me.

right thanks, done that so what speed is the cpu set at with ideal?
also how does it affect battery life and will is reset to default after reboot
