lots of people are moaning in threads saying there's no MMS send and receive support available.
fMMS has been around for ages and is awesome and does a great job.
Thought we could do with a thread to bring it to people's attention.
That is all.

Here's a link to the wiki to help get people going
http://wiki.maemo.org/MMS

It'll be in extras soon! http://blog.frals.se/2010/04/29/fmms...of-the-tunnel/

Install fMMS from extras-devel and configure it with the following settings: http://wiki.maemo.org/MMS

The software hosted in extras-devel is not ready for normal users!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't play with it unless you really know what you are doing. Be ready to file proper bug reports instead of posting complaints.

Expected problems: crashes, battery drain, poor system performance, full disk space & more - SERIOUSLY!
Don't play with Extras-devel if you haven't backed up your data or aren't prepared to re-flash your device.

I'll use this thread to ask my question. My question gets viewed, your statement gets viewed more. Everyone wins.

Why not constantly stay on fMMS APN? For my T-mobile USA network, it connects to the Internet just the same. 3.5G in all its glory. I don't understand the reason to use the original APN at all

There must be a reason.. i've always had a different APN on my phones for mms as oposed to the internet.. can't think they'd double up for no reason

I've had no problems with it at all and get quite a few mms (mms'? mms's? who knows?)
I think it's pretty close to being a 1.0 version, and to be included in jsut extras has to be considered pretty stable.. has undergone a lot of testing in the community
