probably not.. We've been told that Nokia has no plans to bring Ovi Maps 3 to Maemo.

Well generally if Nokia develops something to do with Maps now, they're talking about the version of Maps with the lifelong navigation license. The N900 isn't getting this licence so that's what he is talking about.
I personally so hope that we will see at least little tweaks and fixes in PR 1.2?

As screen shots make it evident, Maemo will get updated version in final 1.2 release.

Read about the new Ovi Maps version which Nokia N8 user will get. Any information about it to be available to Nokia N900 via f/w update or standalone update ?
