i have the new N800 and on my PC runs the Keepass Software - http://keepass.info/index.html

• the c++ SOURCE is available and it gives an Linux version

my two questions:

• is there a comparable software for the N800 available

• or who knows Keepass to development to the N800

Hm, it's a qt4 application afaik.. the tablet graphical enviroment is gtk+ based. Someone's apparently working on porting qt (possibly qt4) to OS 2007, but this means that it's not straight forward to port keepass.

As for equivalent software you could have a look at this: http://downloads.maemo.org/product/pwsafe

Does anyone know if work has been made on porting Keepass? I've used this for quite a while and really like it. I know there's other PW keepers out there but I'd hate to have to input all the PWs I have.

I would like to see keepass also.

I tried the pwsafe and ran into issues. It does not support version 3 databases and exporting from version 3 to version did not seem to work. The database was missing info when I opened it on my n800.

qt4 is out there so this may make porting keepass to n800 easier. It is still something way beyond my skill level.

I've working QT4 and keepassx_0.2.2-3osso in a N800 BUT I can see there is a later (v0.4.1) version, and i would like to run it.

Note1: v0.2.2 doesn't add a link/icon to apps menu, you must execute from CLI(command line) /usr/sbin/ and it opens the graphical app.

Note2: to instal QT4, you need more memory than the N800 internal mem, you must clone you maemo OS to SD card and after you will run OS from SD (the performance is the same or more, but you will have a lot of memory in partition filesystem).

Note3: keepassx_0.2.2-3osso isn't a perfect port for the screensize of a tablet internet, you can open and read the contents of files, but the characters are too big and it isn't confortable, but it is better than nothing...

My prefer solution for a N800 is to install easydebian, and later install keepassx on easydebian.

The requisite is to have more than 1 GB of free space in a SD card
